Ingame Teaser

A (late) celebration of September 28th - Resident Evil 3 day! We've released a quick very work in progress set of footage of where we currently are at with the project. There is a LOT more we have not shown, and we're very much looking forward to revealing more soon! https://www.recoldblood.com/ Resident Evil: Cold Blood is a free total conversion modification for Sven Co-op. Set during the 1998 outbreak in Raccoon City and featuring a complete graphical overhaul, cooperative gameplay and a heavy focus on Survival Horror, this mod aims to bring the authentic old school Resident Evil experience with a unique first person multiplayer twist. Players will fight together against the undead hordes of Raccoon City, utilizing every weapon, herb and ink ribbon they can to survive the horrific nightmare.

Update #006 - "The Game"

Welcome to the sixth video update for Resident Evil: Cold Blood. This update focuses more on the basics of what the game is, and due to some sickness and work commitments is a little lighter on content than usual.

Resident Evil: Cold Blood is a free, cooperative first person shooter set during the events of the Raccoon City incident. It is a spiritual remake of the previous Half-Life mod of the same name, built from the ground up. Some people refer to it as "beta 4" or "new RE:CB". It features gameplay heavily inspired by Outbreak and the original trilogy, featuring familiar locations, monsters, weaponry and puzzles. You will play through Raccoon City at the apex of the outbreak, visiting well known locations as well as exploring new, unseen areas of the city as you make your way north. We will be revealing locations at a later date, but players will encounter plenty of resistance along the way, in the form of zombies, hunters, lickers and even bigger enemies.

Hi all,

Recently we resolved some issues and re-released beta 3 of RE:CB! This is an update to the old version of RE:CB that was released many years ago, and not a replacement for the remake that we showcase on this website.

Update #003 - "Zombies"

It's another Saturday, so it's time for another update for RE:CB! Last Thursday we re-released beta 3, and now we're back to showing updates for the remake of RE:CB. Today we're showcasing zombies and a teaser of the work on the gore system. Lastly, summer vacation is sadly over for all of the team, so we will be switching to updates like these every 2nd Saturday to compensate for the lack of free time we unfortunately now have. Enjoy!

Update #002 - "Berettas and grenades"

Hi all!

It's Saturday again, so it's time for another update! This time we're showcasing Millenia's work on a new pistol and the ammo-type switching system for the grenade launcher, as well as some improved UI and other graphical elements.

The ammo bar got a significant overhaul by Ackart, with an improved look and now more consistent with the ECG design. On top of that, you can see some work in progress improved muzzleflash and smoke sprites.

Those with keener eyes will note the crosshair system when shooting. This will be explained in a future update, though next week is all about zombies. Stay tuned for that, and don’t forget to subscribe to the Youtube channel to get content as it’s posted!

First update #001 "Gunpowder" goes live

We have now launched our Youtube channel, and uploaded our first official video update! Updates are going to be posted every Saturday, usually in the form of a video. This week we’re showing off the inventory and gunpowder system.

The gunpowder system is very much like the Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 2 Remake system, where various different powders (A, B and C) can be combined into various different combinations to craft ammo.

On top of this, we’re adding a new mechanic with “Gunpowder HP” - This high powered mix allows players to craft Enhanced Ammo, which deals much more damage and has a much higher chance of performing Critical Shots to enemies. These Critical Shots will blow off a zombie’s head in one, so it’s worth keeping an eye for the familiar bottles of powder on the streets of Raccoon!

Resident Evil: Cold Blood returns from the dead

It’s good to be back.

It’s been over a decade since the RE:CB team released Beta 2. Since then, a lot has changed in our lives. People have come and gone, technology has evolved and many other Resident Evil games have come out since.

Beta 2 was released at a point in our lives where we were young, inexperienced and carefree. Now we’re all a little older, wiser and uglier, we feel that now would be a great time to get back into our passion project and breathe new life into it.

We’re doing it fresh and we’re doing it big. RE:CB lives again.
